Cape Town Ulama Board Expresses Profound Grief and Solidarity Following Morocco Earthquake

The Cape Town Ulama Board is deeply saddened by the devastating earthquake that struck Morocco on Friday 08 September 2023. Our hearts go out to the people of Morocco who have been affected by this tragic event.

The earthquake, which has claimed many lives and caused extensive damage to homes and infrastructure, has left the country in a state of immense grief and shock. We stand in solidarity with the Moroccan people during this difficult time and offer our sincerest condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones.

As an organization committed to promoting compassion, justice, and unity, the Cape Town Ulama Board recognizes the importance of coming together as a global community to support those in need. In light of this, we encourage the community to support the fundraising campaign launched by “Muslim Hands” to provide assistance to the affected communities in Morocco. We urge individuals, organizations, and businesses to contribute generously towards this cause, as every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by the earthquake.

We also call upon our fellow Muslim brothers and sisters in Cape Town and beyond to remember the victims and their families in their prayers. We request the ulama and imams to make special dua during the daily salaah, let us supplicate to Allah, the Most Compassionate and Merciful, to grant strength, patience, and comfort to those who are grieving and to alleviate their suffering.

For more information on how to donate or get involved in our relief efforts, please contact the Cape Town Ulama Board on admin@ulamaboard.org.za or Muslims Hands on mail@muslimhands.org.za.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Morocco during this challenging time. May Allah alleviate their suffering and bring comfort to their hearts.
